Indiana Biosciences Research Institute

Indianapolis, Indiana

The Indiana Biosciences Research Institute (IBRI) is a pioneering research institute dedicated to improving patient health outcomes through biomedical innovation. Situated in Indianapolis’ dynamic 16 Tech Innovation District, the IBRI fosters cutting-edge research collaborations across industry, academia, and government. The Institute’s work is driven by a commitment to advancing treatments for Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, and rare pediatric disorders, leveraging deep expertise in molecular innovation, integrated data sciences, and enabling technologies.

The IBRI’s vision is to be a world-class hub of researchers, innovators, and business professionals catalyzing transformative discoveries within Indiana’s life sciences ecosystem and beyond. With a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture, the Institute brings together renowned scientists, strategic partners, and forward-thinking leaders to bridge the gap between research and real-world patient impact.

The Opportunity

The Indiana Biosciences Research Institute seeks an accomplished and strategic fundraising leader to serve as Senior Vice President of Philanthropy (SVP).

Reporting to President and CEO Alan Palkowitz, Ph.D., the SVP will build and lead a comprehensive philanthropy program to secure transformational support for the Institute. This role requires an experienced fundraiser with a successful track record in health sciences, academic medicine, or biomedical research philanthropy.

The SVP will shape and execute a multi-year fundraising strategy, personally cultivating and soliciting high-net-worth individuals, corporations, and foundations for major and principal gifts. As an external ambassador for the IBRI, they will champion the Institute’s research mission, engage key stakeholders, and develop relationships to enhance Board recruitment.

The ideal candidate will bring an entrepreneurial mindset, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to scale a high-impact fundraising program.
