Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School

Onsite Atlanta, Georgia

Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES) is a vibrant, co-educational, college-preparatory day school serving 1,400 students from preschool through 12th grade in Atlanta, Georgia.

Rooted in Episcopal tradition and guided by its commitment to “inspire each mind and fire each heart,” HIES fosters an environment where intellectual curiosity, ethical leadership, and personal growth are deeply intertwined. The School’s expansive 43-acre campus supports a dynamic academic experience complemented by robust offerings in the arts, athletics, and community service, creating a well-rounded and forward-looking educational experience.

As the largest Episcopal parish day school in the United States, HIES brings both scale and intentionality to its mission. Its community reflects a balance of academic rigor and inclusive values, encouraging students to explore their passions while preparing for college and life beyond. With a history of strong leadership and thoughtful growth, the School continues to build on its legacy as a place where relationships, purpose, and opportunity intersect in meaningful ways.

The Opportunity

Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School seeks a Chief Advancement Officer to lead a comprehensive and evolving advancement program at a pivotal moment in its history.

As the School prepares for a future campaign, this role offers the opportunity to shape strategy, elevate performance, and strengthen a culture of philanthropy across a deeply engaged community. Reporting to the Head of School and serving on the senior leadership team, the CAO will guide all aspects of development, including major gifts, annual giving, campaign strategy, planned giving, and engagement initiatives.

This leader will oversee a team of nine professionals and partner closely with trustees, faculty, parents, alumni, and friends to advance institutional priorities. With a recent $39 million campaign success and a strong foundation that includes a $1.7 million annual fund and a $37 million endowment, HIES is well-positioned for continued growth. The CAO will build on this momentum by implementing data-informed strategies, strengthening prospect development, and delivering exceptional donor experiences.

This is a role for a strategic and relational leader who can translate vision into results while fostering trust, collaboration, and long-term sustainability across the School community.
