Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives

Robert A. Winn Excellence in Clinical Trials Award Program

Remote

The Robert A. Winn Excellence in Clinical Trials Award Program is a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to transforming the clinical research landscape by improving diversity and community participation in clinical trials. Established by the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation in 2020, the program empowers the next generation of clinical trial investigators and medical professionals through its Career Development Award (Winn CDA) and Clinical Investigator Pathway Program (Winn CIPP). These initiatives cultivate a diverse pipeline of researchers committed to equity in clinical trials, bridging gaps in access, and ultimately driving better health outcomes for all communities.

Through strategic partnerships, mentorship, and innovative training, the Winn Award Program is redefining what inclusive clinical research looks like. By supporting emerging physician-investigators and medical students from underrepresented backgrounds, the program is ensuring that clinical trials are designed with and for the communities they serve.

The Opportunity

The Robert A. Winn Excellence in Clinical Trials Award Program seeks an inaugural Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives (DODSI) to lead the expansion of its fundraising and partnership efforts. This is a pivotal opportunity to shape the long-term sustainability of a program that is revolutionizing clinical research participation.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the DODSI will be responsible for building a robust and diverse funding base to sustain and grow the program beyond its initial seed funding. This leader will develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, cultivate relationships with corporate and foundation partners, and position the program as a leader in the clinical research space. The role is ideal for a strategic and entrepreneurial development professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

This remote position offers a unique chance to make a transformative impact on the future of clinical research equity while working at the intersection of philanthropy, healthcare, and innovation.
