Providence College is a Roman Catholic, four-year, liberal arts college located on 105 acres in Providence, Rhode Island. Providence College was founded in 1917 and is the only college or university in the United States founded by and conducted under the auspices of the Dominican Friars. Formally known as the Order of Preachers, the Dominicans were founded by the Spanish priest St. Dominic de Guzman in 1216.

Providence College’s four schools – the School of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Professional Studies, School of Continuing education – collectively offer more than 70 degree programs. With approximately 314 full-time and 182 part-time faculty members, the College boasts a 12:1 student-faculty ratio, ensuring a highly personalized education. The College awards bachelors and master’s degrees. Providence College competes in 8 men’s and 11 women’s varsity sports, all at the Division I level, with membership in the NCAA, the BIG EAST Conference, the HOCKEY EAST Association, and the Eastern Collegiate Atlantic Conference.

The Opportunity

The next Director of Planned and Estate Giving will oversee and direct the College’s overall planned giving program as well as a comprehensive marketing program, and manage the stewardship of planned giving donors to maintain relationships and enhance philanthropy. The Director will manage a portfolio of 200-250 prospects with a goal of soliciting and closing deferred gifts and bequest intentions in the range of $5-10 million annually. The Director will be expected to provide a proactive and collaborative approach to planned and estate giving across institutional advancement with a commitment to academic excellence in pursuit of the truth, growth in virtue, and service of God and neighbor.
