One of the largest non-governmental organizations in the nation, Pratham was established as a nonprofit in 1995 to provide education to children in the slums of Mumbai and has grown both in scope and geographical coverage. Pratham’s mission is not only to improve the quality of education in India, but also to ensure that collaboration occurs between government, local communities, parents, teachers, volunteers, and civil society members. The goal is to create an adoptable model for all state governments.
The Opportunity
The Development Director, Houston will serve as the lead fundraiser for one of the top performing chapters of this critically acclaimed international organization. The Director will manage all aspects of the Houston Chapter and will work closely with top donors and prospects with the goal of providing compelling and engaging opportunities for support at the leadership level. In close partnership with the Chapter President, s/he will serve as the primary liaison for the Board, actively contributing to the planning and execution of an annual gala, soliciting and stewarding leadership gifts and donors, and serving as a thought leader in how to increase donor activity, support, and participation in the organization.
