The Opportunity
Porter-Gaud School is seeking a Director of Advancement at a moment of opportunity for its growing advancement program.
Over recent years, the advancement function has evolved from a small operation into a multi-person office, establishing a strong foundation while also revealing the need for greater clarity, structure, and strategic focus. This role offers the chance to assess current practices, align priorities, and build the systems and culture required for long-term philanthropic success.
Reporting directly to the Head of School and serving as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Advancement will lead all fundraising, alumni and constituent engagement, and advancement services efforts. Partnering closely with the Board of Trustees, senior leadership, and volunteers, the Director will help shift the program from transactional fundraising to sustained, relationship-driven engagement.
With responsibility for campaign leadership, major and planned giving, team development, and portfolio management, this leader will play a central role in helping a historic institution fully realize its philanthropic potential and chart a path forward together.
