Major Gift Officer, West Coast

USA Lacrosse

Remote California

USA Lacrosse is entering a transformative moment for the sport. As the recognized national governing body and a member of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, the organization provides the leadership, standards, and resources that guide the sport’s growth across the country. Since its founding in 1998 through the merger of eight volunteer-led lacrosse organizations, USA Lacrosse has shaped the landscape of the game, investing more than $300 million into youth development, safety and training standards, access initiatives, and the U.S. National Teams program. Today, it serves more than 400,000 members and continues to fuel the sport’s rising momentum.

The global growth of lacrosse and its historic return to the Olympic stage in 2028 represent a landmark moment for the organization. The United States has long been the dominant force in international competition, earning medals in every world championship and holding 36 gold titles. With 95 countries now represented in World Lacrosse membership, USA Lacrosse is poised to lead the sport into an era defined by inclusion, expansion, and opportunity.

The Opportunity

The Major Gift Officer, West Coast will step into a pivotal new role that expands USA Lacrosse’s philanthropic reach across California and parts of the broader region. As the organization grows its national philanthropy program, this inaugural gift officer will serve as a primary ambassador, forging meaningful relationships with donors, prospects, and community partners who are passionate about fueling access to the game, strengthening competitive excellence, and supporting athletes on the national and global stage.

This role will focus on building and managing a dynamic portfolio of major gift prospects, cultivating engagement through direct outreach, strategic conversations, and face-to-face donor meetings. Working closely with Foundation colleagues, the gift officer will develop and execute giving strategies, secure commitments of $50K+, steward multi-year pledges, and deepen connections with Annual Fund supporters.

The position offers the rare opportunity to shape a major gifts program during a moment of organizational momentum and global visibility, as lacrosse prepares to rejoin the Olympics for the first time in more than a century.

The gift officer will be supported by a collaborative, mission-driven team and will contribute to key USA Lacrosse events, including the Foundation Gala and Hall of Fame celebration.

Candidates must reside in California and bring strong relationship-building skills, strategic fundraising experience, and the capacity to thrive in a remote environment with significant travel.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000.
