Director of Development

The Nature Conservancy

Madison, Mississippi

Since 1965, The Nature Conservancy’s Mississippi Chapter has worked to conserve the lands and waters across Mississippi that provide a sense of place and connection to the state’s great outdoors. During this time, the chapter has played a key role in protecting and restoring over 150,000 acres across some of Mississippi’s most iconic landscapes, while also increasing the state’s public recreational opportunities by establishing a total of 13 Wildlife Management Areas and National Wildlife Refuges.

The Opportunity

If you are interested in playing a key part in conserving the lands and waters on which all life depends, then this opportunity is for you!

The Nature Conservancy seeks a Director of Development to build upon this rich history to fuel the chapter’s mission throughout Mississippi. The Director of Development in Mississippi will manage all aspects of the state chapter’s development program and will be charged with securing the necessary financial resources to support its conservation goals. The ideal candidate will leverage relationships and networks, working across private, public, and corporate partnerships, and serve as an ambassador and front-line fundraiser for the organization. Partnering closely with, and reporting to the State Director of Mississippi, the Director will be charged with coordinating a geographically dispersed team, while working towards meeting the long-range strategic priorities of the program by developing and executing plans to achieve fundraising goals of $1 million – $2 million a year.

This position will play a pivotal role in helping deliver conservation impacts that you can believe in and see, while using philanthropy to create a more sustainable future for Mississippi for generations to come.
