Climate Central
Climate Central is a non-advocacy organization of leading scientists and communicators dedicated to researching and reporting on climate change and its impacts and solutions. Founded by top scientists and a generous philanthropist in 2008 to be a central, authoritative source for climate change information, the organization surveys, conducts, and communicates about scientific research regarding climate science, sea level rise, energy solutions, wildfires, drought, and other topics. Climate Central is exceptional in reaching large audiences with local information delivered through trusted local channels at scale, including in areas with below-average levels of climate understanding and concern.
The Opportunity
Climate Central seeks a senior leader to be Vice President of Development (VP), its chief development officer and a critical member of the senior-staff leadership team. The VP will be responsible for all fundraising and development activities, from planning and soliciting to stewardship and reporting of accomplishments to staff, board, funders, and prospects. Emphasis will be on major and principal philanthropic giving from individuals and foundations but will also include exploration of other pathways to diversify and increase revenue streams over time.
